1. What does the term “Almanac” mean? Look up the definition. (2 Marks)
2. How old was Benjamin when the story began? (1 Mark)
In 1736 he was only five when the story began .
3. Every evening Benjamin does something with Grandma Molly, what is it? (2 Marks)
Grandma Molly told story time .
4. What did Benjamin do when he wasn't busy counting or helping with the tobacco plants? Describe the activities fully.
He studied with Molly , he learned to write with a goose-quill pen , and learned to read from the only book they had - the bible and after fished and hunted.
5. What is the one problem that Benjamin describes in the end of this chapter? Ben wanted to know more than farming and fishing , but he wanted other books . Wanted to cont every thing , every where .

4. After going to school for four winters what had Benjamin learned? (2 Marks)
He learned the way dry ground soaks up rain , arithmetic , geography, spelling
